§ Mr. Neil HamiltonThe Director General of Fair Trading submitted his advice on the proposed acquisition by Lloyds Bank plc of Midland Bank plc to the President of the Board of Trade on 20 May. The President announced his decision to refer the proposed acquisition to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission, in accordance with the director general's advice, on 22 May.
