To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to fit global positioning system units on British Trident missiles.

Mr. Aitken

None. However, global positioning system units will be fitted to each of the four Vanguard class Trident missile submarines, and will act as a check system for the submarines' primary inertial navigation system.
