To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if he will list the pursuits his Department has classified as(a) sports and (b) arts within the remit of his Department.

Mr. Mellor

My Department makes no such classifications. We are concerned with the promotion of all sport and active recreation and with the encouragement of artistic activities generally which bring pleasure to many.
