§ Mr. PageTo ask the Lord President of the Council what calculation has been made of the savings that might be achieved if Ministers were to make available to the proposed data network for Parliament, standard replies, with appropriate updates, to routine inquiries made by hon. Members on behalf of their constituents.
§ Mr. NewtonNo calculation has, as yet, been made of any potential savings but the Information Committee will be considering the potential advantages of a data network for Parliament and the possible uses to which it might be put. I understand that it hopes to report to the House later in the Session. Any decision to install such a network would need the agreement of the House and of the Finance and Services Committee.
