§ Mr. Charles KennedyTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received on the possible implications of future changes in the structure of local government on the shape of parliamentary boundaries.
§ Mr. StewartMy right hon. Friend has received no such representations. The Boundary Commissions Bill, which is now before Parliament, requires that the Parliamentary Boundary Commission for Scotland, in carrying out its current review of parliamentary boundaries, has regard to local government areas which are in operation at whichever is the earlier of the date of its report or 1 June 1994.
