HC Deb 16 July 1992 vol 211 cc932-3W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what would be the defence implications of United Kingdom participation in a multilateral, verifiable fissile materials cut-off.

Mr. Aitken

Unlike the nuclear super powers, the United Kingdom does not have large stocks of surplus fissile material upon which to draw. United Kingdom production will continue to be kept at the minimum level necessary to satisfy our nuclear deterent and naval reactor needs.
