HL Deb 16 July 1992 vol 539 c41WA
Earl Russell

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many days during the coming summer Recess the House will sit Judicially; and whether they will consider amending Section 7 of the Statutory Instruments Act 1946 so that such judicial sitting days no longer count towards the 40 days "praying time" for Motions to annul negative instruments.

The Lord Privy Seal (Lord Wakeham)

It is expected that there will be five such days in the coming summer Recess. The Government has at present no plans to amend the 1946 Act.
