§ Mr. Nelson[holding answer 14 July 1992]: Details of the numbers and proportions of registered disabled people employed by my Department in 1989 and 1990 were as follows:
Number Per cent. 1989 35 1.1 1990 31.5 1.0 These figures show the position at 1 June 1989 and 1 June 1990 and are drawn from the publication "Independent". Copies of this publication are in the Library of the House of Commons. Part-time staff are counted as half units. The Department also employs a number of people with disabilities who have chosen not to register as disabled.
