§ Mr. ScottThe number of claims received up to 10 July, the last date for which figures are available, was 14,219 of which 13,463 have been adjudicated, and 9.5 per cent. of those were successful. The table shows the reason for unsuccessful claims.

§ Mr. ScottInformation is not available centrally to say how many disability working allowance recipients were previously in employment. We estimate that up to the end of May 123 awards were made to people who had been receiving invalidity benefit or severe disablement allowance in the 56 days before the date of claim.
