HC Deb 15 July 1992 vol 211 cc769-70W
Mr. Chris Smith

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what discussions he has had with British Rail about the restoration of services on the Blackburn to Hellifield railway line; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeman

None. The level of service on the line is a matter for British Rail. I understand that at present a montly summer Sunday service operates over the line and on to Carlisle. There is also a summer Saturday service from Blackburn as far as Clitheroe.
