What is the percentage of money budgeted for cycle schemes by the Department of Transport's Traffic Division for 1992–93 and whether they will publish a list of local authorities which include cycle schemes in their current Transport Supplementary Grant applications, indicating the sums of money that have been asked for.
The Earl of CaithnessThe department does not set budgets specifically for cycle schemes in the local roads capital provision. Local highway authorities have the discretion to use for such schemes funds allocated to them for minor works in general. The list of bids for cycle schemes which local authorities included in the sums they requested for minor works in 1992–93 is attached.
