HC Deb 13 July 1992 vol 211 cc432-3W
Dr. Godman

To ask the Prime Minister what discussions he has recently held with the leaders of other member states of the Security Council of the United Nations concerning the issue of human rights in Tibet; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister

[holding answer 9 July 1992]: I raised human rights in Tibet with Premier Li Peng in Peking last September. I also raised human rights in his discussions with him in New York in January and in Rio de Janeiro in June. At the recent Munich summit leaders of the G7 countries called on the Chinese to make considerable further improvements in human rights.
