HL Deb 13 July 1992 vol 539 c8WA
Lord Molloy

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will hold discussions with the International League for the Protection of Horses regarding further efforts to reduce cruelty to horses exported to the Continent.

Earl Howe

Ministers and officials in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food will continue to keep in regular touch with the International League for the Protection of Horses. The Government are not aware of instances of cruelty to horses exported from the United Kingdom to the Continent since the introduction of controls provide specific safeguards for the welfare of horses.
