§ Mr. David HuntThere has been a significant increase in the number of schools interested in grant-maintained status. My Department has received inquiries from around 40 schools since April. It would not, however, be appropriate for me to make such information public until such time as the views of parents on whether to apply for grant-maintained status have been sought through the ballot box. Ballots have already taken place at Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan, Abergele, and Ysgol Caergeiliog, Anglesey.
