§ Mrs. RoeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what action the Government are taking to prevent young girls being taken out of the United Kingdom to be circumcised.
§ Mr. Charles WardleA person may apply to a court for an order to prohibit the removal of a child from the country, if he has reasonable grounds to believe that the child if taken abroad would suffer harm. The police at airports and seaports maintain a list, which is also given to the immigration service, of children who are believed to be under threat of removal. Immigration officers are instructed to check this list when a child embarks alone or in the company of one parent or an adult who is not a parent, and to notify any identified subject of the list to a police officer.
