§ Mr. VazTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what recent representations he has received from hon. Members about the treatment of constituents at(a) Heathrow, (b) Gatwick and (c) Manchester airports by customs officers.
§ Sir John Cope[holding answer 9 July 1992]: During April, May and June of 1992 my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer has received representations from hon. Members concerning the treatment at Heathrow on behalf of seven of their constituents. These related to one complaint about customs clearance of a postal package and six by passengers. No representations have been received in respect of Gatwick or Manchester airports during this period.
