Tree Preservation Orders

Mr. Simon Hughes

To ask the secretary of State for the Environment if he will list the number of reported breaches of trees preservations orders for each year since 1982; and if he will make a statement.

It is a criminal offence under section 102 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1971 to contravene a tree preservation order. The number of prosecutions for each year since 1982 are as follows:
