To ask the President of the Board of Trade how many copies of the booklet "No Credit?" have been published since March 1991 and at what cost; how many copies have been distributed and through which avenues; and what contributions towards the costs of publication and distribution have been obtained from the four credit agencies listed on its centre pages.

[holding answer 8 July 1992]: A total of 550,000 copies of the booklet "No Credit?" have been printed at a cost of £21,708. A total of 397,000 copies have been distributed through local authority trading standards offices, main libraries and citizens advice bureaux. A total of 20,000 and 3,500 copies respectively have been distributed free of charge by the credit reference agencies CCN Systems Ltd. and Credit Data and Marketing Services. There has been no contribution to costs of publication by the four main credit reference agencies.
