To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement about the level of manufacturing output over the last three years.

Manufacturing output fell by about 6¾ per cent. between 1989 and the first quarter of 1992, following a rise of over 30 per cent. between 1981 and 1989.
