To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many hectares in Wales are designated as environmentally sensitive areas; what is the number of farmers under this scheme and the total expenditure in 1991 under the scheme; and if he will make a statement.

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the statement I made on 22 June 1992 and decisions about any further expansion of the ESA scheme in Wales will be taken in the light of available resources.
