§ Mr. MichaelTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales whether he supports the initiative taken by the Assembly of Welsh Counties to bring together the Sports Council for Wales and the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales to seek agreement on the future organisation and funding of participation in the games in Canada and beyond.
§ Mr. David HuntThe Sports Council for Wales is responsible for ensuring that public funds made available to it are used effectively. I understand that the Sports Council for Wales has indicated its willingness to participate in the meeting proposed by the Assembly of Welsh Counties and I hope that this will be helpful in resolving the matter.
