HL Deb 07 July 1992 vol 538 c70WA
Lord Judd

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What action they are taking to deal with the potential proliferating and destabilising consequences of the proposed large-scale sale of naval vessels and hardware on world markets by Russia and other members of the CIS.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Defence (Viscount Cranborne)

We are monitoring closely reports of sales of naval vessels and hardware by Russia and other members of the CIS, but we have no reason to believe at this stage that they are likely to take place on a large scale.
