§ Mr. Eggar[holding answer 3 July 1992]: I have met representatives of the chlor-alkali industry and of other industries which are major users of electricity.
According to data supplied under the price transparency directive, electricity prices paid by large and medium consumers in the United Kingdom are around the middle of the range of other EC member states. In addition, the latest available data shows United Kingdom electricity prices for industry to be below the OECD average.
