In the period 1974 to 1979 total growth was 3 per cent., a yearly increase of 0.6 per cent. Growth per annum 1979 to 1988 was therefore greater than that for the whole of the period 1974 to 1979. Analysis of pensioners' income on this basis for later years is not yet available.
