§ Mr. ForthThe Government are committed to raising standards across the board, in particular through the national curriculum and by maximum delegation of responsibility to individual schools through local management of schools and, increasingly, by the acquisition of GM status. Steady progress is being made towards our objective of the highest possible standards in all schools.
