HL Deb 28 January 1992 vol 534 c43WA
Lord Judd

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will contribute at least 40 million US dollars (the amount contributed by France) to the International Fund for Agricultural Development's (IFAD) Special Programme for Africa.

The Earl of Caithness

We believe IFAD's future activities in Africa should be financed in the same way as its work elsewhere. Kuwait, Sweden and Nigeria are the only donors so far to have announced firm pledges for a second phase of the special programme. France, Belgium and the Netherlands have made conditional pledges.
