HL Deb 23 January 1992 vol 534 cc30-1WA
The Earl of Shrewsbury

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they believe that a world wool crisis exists at present, and if so, why.

Baroness Trumpington

There are indications of greater stability in the world wool market following a period of very considerable difficulty largely caused by high world production, the withdrawal from the market of a number of major importing countries and low consumer demand for wool-based products.
