§ Mr. RedwoodThere are no specific provisions in the Companies Acts dealing with the accounting treatment of a pension scheme surplus in a company's accounts. However, the accounting treatment of pension scheme surpluses is dealt with in an accounting standard, SSAP24. There are also Inland Revenue rules about pension fund surpluses in connection with eligibility for tax relief.
