Mr. Fatchett

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment if he will set out, by the relevant training and enterprise council, the overall number of training credits available, and the take-up at the latest available date.

Mr. Jackson

As at 8 December 1991, 31,506 training credits has been issued within the 11 pilot schemes; 15,672 of these have already been used by young people to obtain high quality training of their choice. This number continues to rise.

The table shows the figures set out by pilot areas:
