§ Mr. ForthInformation available for employees in employment is from the censuses of employment for September 1981 and September 1989. The estimated numbers of employees employed in the Blackpool travel-to-work area at the two census dates were 102,300 and 105,200, respectively.
The available estimates for the number of self-employed in local areas are from the census of population for April 1981 when there were 18,200 in Blackpool.
