§ Mr. AlexanderTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what the level of grant under section 73 of the Housing Act 1985 is expected to be for the current year.
§ Mr. YeoThe Department of the Environment is providing £4.5 million in section 73 grants to voluntary organisations throughout England in 1991–92. This will rise to £6.1 million in 1992–93—an increase of around 30 per cent. in real terms. Local authorities also have powers to give grants under section 73, but they are not required to report on these to the Department.
