HC Deb 20 January 1992 vol 202 c66W
Mr. Flynn

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Newport, West,Official Report, 12 December, columns 494–5, if he will make a statement on the outcome of the meeting with the Green Alliance by officials of his Department and others on 13 December, to which he makes a reference.

Mr. Baldry

Officials representing 11 Departments met the author of the Green Alliance report "Greening Government" on 13 December to discuss ways of improving environmental coverage in the 1992 departmental reports. It was a very fruitful meeting and the recommendations from it have been passed to those Departments who were unable to attend. We intend such interdepartmental meetings of the "green guardians" in Departments to be a regular feature of the Government's implementation of its environmental strategy as set out in the White Paper "This Common Inheritance".
