§ Mr. Alan HowarthUniversities already receive substantial funding for research as part of their block grant from the Universities Funding 29W institutions to determine their use of block grant and other funding according to their own priorities. This includes support for European Community research projects. Improved cost recovery on commercial research projects by universities would free substantial resources for other purposes, including European Community research.
