§ Sir Wyn RobertsA total of 940 full-time teachers in maintained nursery, primary, and secondary schools in Wales retired between 1 April 1988 and 31 March 1989. Of these, 706 were below the age of 60. It is not possible without undue cost to determine the exact number that took early retirement.
