§ Mr. Alan HowarthAdmissions policies are matters for individual higher education institutions. In deciding whether to admit a student, institutions take a variety of academic, vocational and personal qualifications into account, of which A-level grades often, but by no means always, form an important part. We look at institutions to be flexible in determining entrance requirements and to look at the full range of candidate's achievements.
