§ Mr. HanleyArrangements in Northern Ireland comply with European Community provisions for disposal of fallen and diseased animals. Meat inspection systems operated by the Department of Agriculture and by environmental health officers aim to eliminate any risk to food hygiene. The Department of the Environment (NI) monitors fresh and marine waters for compliance with EC directives relating to water pollution.
