§ Mr. Denzil DaviesTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is envisaged that under the protocol on the social policy agreed at Maastricht the 11 member states who are allowed recourse to the institutions of the EC will have to make a payment to the EC to cover the costs to the EC of such recourse.
§ Mr. Norman LamontAny act adopted by the 11 member states under the protocol on social policy will not be applicable to the United Kingdom; nor will the United Kingdom bear any financial consequences, other than administrative costs for the institutions, arising from such acts.
