§ Mr. SpearingTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will state the definition of, or criteria determining, those matters falling within the exclusive jurisdiction of the European Community, or list those matters not within that category, stating in either case the relevant bases in treaty articles or protocols.
§ Mr. Garel-JonesThe EC has exclusive jurisdiction where that is conferred upon it by treaty provision or measures taken under the treaty. Current examples include the CAP, common commercial policy and the external tariff.
