§ Mr. Michael ForsythIn reply to a question from the right hon. Member for Selby (Mr. Alison), my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food announced on 26 February,Official Report, column 507–8, the arrangements for operating the European Community surplus food scheme in the United Kingdom in 1992. Agriculture departments will shortly be inviting charitable and other non-profit making organisations wishing to take part to apply by 10 April for designation to distribute food. The details were set out in a joint agriculture departments press release. In addition to that publicity, the Scottish Office Agriculture and Fisheries Department will be writing to all bodies participating in the 1991 scheme or which have expressed an interest in the 1992 scheme.
