Mr. Darling

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will publish a table showing the number of applications for asylum in the United Kingdom by country of origin of the applicants in 1991;

(2) how many applications for asylum in the United Kingdom were received in each month in 1991; and how many were received in January 1992.
