Mr. Corbett

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether he will make it his policy progressively to introduce low-energy lighting in all the buildings operated by his Department.

The Department is committed to promoting energy efficiency and this policy was confirmed in the reply given to the hon. Member for Stalybridge and Hyde (Mr. Pendry) on 28 January 1991 at column431–32 and at paragraph 122 of the 1992 departmental report (Cm. 1914), a copy of which is available in the Library.
