§ Mr. Tony BanksTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the minimum amount of notice required by the Metropolitan police in respect of Football Association cup and league matches in London.
§ Mr. Peter LloydThis is a matter for the Commissioner of the Metropolis. I understand that safety certificates for most London clubs require that the police be notified of fixtures 28 days beforehand. In the case of cup match replays, the police require 10 days notice. The police are sometimes able to accommodate fixtures with less notice, depending on other operational commitments.
