HC Deb 13 February 1992 vol 203 c606W
Ms. Harman

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will state for each district health authority, and the national total, the amount of money still remaining at January 1991 in budgets which have been set aside for extra-contractual referrals in 1991–92.

Mr. Dorrell

[holding answer 30 January 1992.]: Information about individual district health authorities reserves for extra-contractual referrals is not held centrally. Our most recent information based on the regional returns made in January 1992 shows that nationally around £53 million—26 per cent.—of the reserves set aside for extra-contractual referrals remains for the last quarter of the year.
