To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on the increase in share ownership in Yorkshire as a result of denationalisation.

§ Mr. Norman Lamont
The number of adults owning shares in the Yorkshire and Humberside region has increased by over 50 per cent. since 1987. The privatisations of nationalised industries have played a significant role in introducing the benefits of share ownership to an increasing proportion of the public.
