HC Deb 13 February 1992 vol 203 c611W
Mr. Dalyell

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what priority the Minister of Overseas Development has given to the forestry discipline within the Overseas Development Administration's biodiversity programmes.

Mr. Chalker

We made it clear in the ODA's publication "Biological Diversity and Developing Countries: Issues and Options", June 1991, that tropical forests, which may contain over 90 per cent. of species, have a very high priority within our support to biodiversity programmes in developing countries.
