To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what amount of provision of training he will purchase from the Merseyside training and enterprise council in 1992–93.

[holding answer 10 February 1992]: This is the subject of local negotiations. Therefore figures for 1992–93 are not available.

The Employment Department contract with Merseyside training and enterprise council for 1991-92 is made up of the following expenditure:

Block 1 covers: Youth Training and Education.

Block 2 covers: Adult Training—Employment Training.

Block 3 covers: Business and Enterprise.

Block 4 covers: Other expenditure including local initiative fund activities, advertising and publicity etc.

Block 5 covers: Management costs.
