Mr. Tom Clarke

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) how many people with gross incomes of over £100,000 pay an income tax bill of less than(a) 35 per cent., (b) 30 per cent., (c) 25 per cent., (d) 20 per cent., (e) 15 per cent., (f) 10 per cent. and (g) 5 per cent. of their gross incomes;

(2) how many higher-rate taxpayers pay an income tax bill of less than (a) 35 per cent., (b) 30 per cent., (c) 25 per cent., (d) 20 per cent., (e) 15 per cent., (f) 10 per cent. and (g) 5 per cent. of their gross incomes.
