To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many premises subject to the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazard Regulations 1984 had yet to be issued with a fire safety certificate on 1 February in each Health and Safety Executive area.

Information about the number of premises subject to the Control of Industrial Major Accident Hazards Regulations 1984 which have not yet been issued with a fire certificate under the Fire Certification (Special Premises) Regulations 1976 is not readily available centrally. This information could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

HSE does not hold information about premises for which the responsibility for issuing a fire certificate rests with local fire authorities.
