§ Miss Emma NicholsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) if he will adopt development market research for the design and implementation of development projects in Overseas Development Administration activities;

§ Mrs. ChalkerAid projects in developing countries are very varied in nature. The Overseas Development Administration takes forecast demand, users' willingness to pay and the views and opinions of people affected into consideration in designing and appraising projects, as appropriate. The techniques used are numerous and are constantly being refined. They could, in some instances, involve procedures used in market research, including those used by the BBC.
