Information on the retail prices index (all items) to convert 1979 figures to 1991 prices is published in table 6.4 of the latest Employment Gazette for April 1991, and in table 26 of the annual supplement to "Economic Trends" for April of earlier years. These figures relate to(a) all employees, and (b) employees whose pay for the survey period was not affected by absence. Figures excluding employees who received no pay for the survey period are not available, except for mean (average) earnings, which were as follows in April 1991 (£ per week).
